Book Club Review: March Unfortunately Yours by Tessa Bailey
This book was exactly what I needed this month! It was perfectly balanced - it had a good plot, and the characters were nice, swoon-worthy and spicy romance. Funnily enough, I’d picked this one up not realising it was book 2 of a series. Fortunately, they are fairly stand-alone and you don’t have to have read the first for this one to be complete all on its own.
August and Natalie bring such life to the story. The chemistry and the heat is off the charts. Both of them are likable and confident in their ways. The yearning that they present for each other is perfect, Tessa Bailey is the queen of build up.
August also knows exactly how to turn things up and you won't be disappointed. Mans is head over heels for her. Natalie is someone easy to like and understand. She tends to jump to conclusions without thinking but I feel like you have to have some faults.
One thing I really appreciated about this book and their romance is the fact that they don't keep their feelings locked up and they communicate when the time is right, giving each other the required space and respect to express. I feel that they had an ‘in this together’ mentality having agreed to a marriage of convenience - them against the world to help them both achieve their dreams.
Things do seem a bit slow in the first half but it picked up fairly quickly after the wedding. Their banter was fantastic from the start, their insults kept me laughing the whole time.
Overall, enjoyed it. Recommend it.
