Romance Reads in the Valley

Over the long weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting A Thousand Lives bookshop in Woori Yellock Victoria!! If you’re a romance reader you might have already heard about this great niche shop via TikTok.

This store primarily focuses on Independently Published Romance Authors, both Australian-based and Internationally based. They stock a range of sub-genres including Fantasy, Contemporary, Dark, Light, Adult, Erotic, LGBTQIA+, and Young Adult. I picked up 2 new books and was very tempted to get even more!!

While its a new store I felt they still had a lot of titles to check out. Compared to other independent stores you might say it’s on the smaller side, it didn’t feel like a bad thing to me as there was so much to look at but I like to make sure people manage their expectations too. Most of their current stock learns to the dark romance side of things which I love and seems to be all the rage at the moment.

After browsing the shelves and making our selection we continued out to Warburton for a relaxed picnic lunch and reading break. The weather was perfect, a nice amount of sunshine, cool breeze and the sound of the river flowing while we lounged around on the grass.
